UT License Plate for GA Residents

Just over 560 applications received
and still counting...




After almost 2 long years of blood, sweat, and tears ....IT'S HERE!

To Clarify the MOST ASKED QUESTIONS thus far:

  • The State of Georgia is now trying to push legislation through to limit out-of-state school tags. We're hearing that many people are waiting until we have received almost 1,000 applications to send theirs in. PLEASE do not do this! If you want a plate, send in your application immediately! We are being asked to turn in our first 500-600 applications as soon as they are received, so if you want to be in the first batch of production, take action now!!!
  • You only need one $25 check/money order and application to apply, per vehicle. If you are applying for more than one plate, you are more than welcome to include that all on one check.
  • We have attached the application with the required Organization's information inserted.
  • Please, please, please include your email address on your application or check. We will be notifying you by email that we have received your application. If you have already sent an application(s) and did not include your email, please send an email to utyoungalumni@gmail.com with your name and email address.
  • DO NOT wait until your birthday to apply for a plate. These plates technically DO NOT exist until we have 1,000 paid applicants. Your registration will not be affected by applying for a plate before or after your birthday!!!
  • You may disregard the dates specified on the application that the plates will be produced. These dates have been waived for us. So, again, do not wait to send in your application!
  • Stay tuned to our website to track our progress. Please pass on the word to EVERY VOL FAN you know, young and old, living in Georgia !
  • Notice the NEW version of the plate! This is the official proto-type from the State of Georgia . Our target deadline is JANUARY 31, 2008 to receive all 1,000 applications.
Auburn got theirs. Florida's are on the way.

Announcing, the coming of the "POWER T " license plates!

I'm sure you've been stuck in traffic and noticed that little red and black bulldog face on the license plate in front of you. Or maybe the black and gold GT (that stings!). Over the past few months, you've probably even noticed a few burnt orange and navy AU logos, as well. Well, now we will be able to officially establish the "Vol Nation" here in Georgia with the BIG ORANGE " POWER T " on your license plate! Our time has come!

This is your chance to become a charter member of the University of Tennessee " POWER T " license plate program. The UT National Alumni Association - Atlanta Chapter has agreed to handle all up front responsibilities for the first 1,000 applicants. After we reach this goal of 1,000 applicants, UT fans will need to individually apply through the Department of Motor Vehicles to receive their plates. However, we will do our best to accommodate additional applicants for a short period of time.

Here's what you need to know:

*We must have 1,000 paid applicants to start production of the license plates.
*Applications must be typed or filled out in blue or black ink . Click here for the Application Form, print and send in with your check.
*Must use vehicle owner's full legal name on application.
*Must have valid Georgia driver's license.
*Must be signed by vehicle owner. If vehicle is jointly owned, it must be signed by both parties.
*We are only able to accept checks and money orders. Any returned checks will be subject to the fee imposed by the bank. You will be immediately responsible for this fee should your check be designated Non-Sufficient Funds. (Note: this would also count against one of the 1,000 paid applicants)
*Upon receipt of the 1,000 applications, we will deposit all checks. This process will take some time. Please do not cancel your check! Doing so will delete your application. We will then write one check to the Georgia Department of Revenue. In the unlikely event of not receiving 1,000 applications, your checks/money orders will be destroyed, and you will be notified.

Up front Fee: All you need to apply is a check for $25.00 - Special Tag License Fee and the signed application.

•Make checks in the amount of $25.00 payable to UTNAA- Atlanta Chapter, and mail your check and completed forms to:

The Atlanta, Georgia UT Alumni chapter initiated the creation of the University of Tennessee license plate and has worked hard to begin the process to make it available for the citizens of the State of Georgia. The Atlanta, Georgia UT Alumni Chapter has incurred expenses throughout this process, including cost for P.O. Box, mailings, and other expenses. If you would like to help defer some of the Atlanta, Georgia UT Alumni Chapter's expenses, the chapter would appreciate your including a $5 processing fee (optional) with your application.

If you would like to include the $5 processing fee (optional) for the chapter, please make your check out to the UTNAA - Atlanta Chapter for $30.00.

Future Annual Fees:
$20.00 Normal Registration fee (as with ALL Georgia automobiles)
$25.00 Special Tag fee
$45.00 TOTAL ANNUALLY

*Be sure to include your email address on your completed application so that we can confirm receipt of your application and check!

*YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE AN ALUMNUS OF UT TO HAVE THIS LICENSE PLATE. ANY, ALL, AND EVERY VOL FAN LIVING IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA (with a valid Georgia driver's license, of course) IS ENCOURAGED TO PARTICIPATE!!!!!
